The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Freshwater Fisheries Division issues scientific collectors permits under the authority of the Florida Wildlife Code rule 68A-9.002. WHO NEEDS A PERMIT ? Individuals and institutions who desire to take or possess wildlife or freshwater fish or their eggs for scientific, educational, propagation, exhibition or other justifiable purposes require a scientific collectors permit. Permits are issued based on the applicant's county and not on the collection locality.HOW CAN I GET AN APPLICATION? Option One Contact the appropriate office by mail, phone or e-mail (see below for region info). Option Two Download and print out our scientific collector's permit application (198k).
